Percent of adults age 50 or older, or in fair or poor health, or ever told they have diabetes or pre-diabetes, acute myocardial infarction, heart disease, stroke, or asthma who did not visit a doctor for a routine checkup in the past two years. Authors’ analysis of 2011–2014 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (NCCDPHP, BRFSS 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).

Why is this important?

At-risk adults require routine medical care to monitor their condition. At-risk adults who do not visit a doctor regularly may experience adverse health effects.
