Good Measures
A virtual Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) for prediabetic individuals living in the MiHIA region.
About the Good Measures Program
Good Measures offers a CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) that combines highly personalized clinical coaching by registered dietitian lifestyle coaches with easy-to-use technology to help people build the skills and habits that lead to sustainable change and better health.
This program helps patients who have prediabetes or certain risk factors and want to try to prevent progressing to type 2 diabetes. The year-long online program helps patients lose weight, get more active, eat better, and manage stress. Patients get support from a registered dietitian lifestyle coach and their group to learn new healthy habits.
The Good Measures DPP is a year-long program, which includes 26 sessions. Group video classes are 1 hour long. The online classes are self-paced, and typically take approximately 45 minutes per class. During the program, patients will learn to:
- Eat healthy without giving up all the foods they love.
- Add physical activity to their routines.
- Deal with stress.
- Cope with challenges that can derail their hard work—like how to choose healthy food when eating out.
