Rainforest Action Network

A Good Idea

Description

Rainforest Action Network (RAN) is an environmental group committed to aligning policies of corporations with those of environmental protection and sustainability by market activism. It runs market campaigns that leverage public opinion and consumer pressure to align corporate policies with environmental responsibility.

Goal / Mission

RAN's mission is to protect and sustain healthy forests by campaigning against corporate policies that come at the expense of the environment.

Results / Accomplishments

RAN has won many landmark commitments from America's largest corporations, from Citi and Home Depot to Bank of America and Kinko's. Its current campaigns focus on Cargill's palm oil work, Bank of America's financial support of coal, and Chevron's toxic oil dumping in Ecuador.
