The MiHIA “Call-to-Action for Population Health” Speaker Circuit is an educational endeavor targeted at equipping and empowering people to take charge of their health, and more broadly, transforming the health of their community. The speaker circuit initiative is two-fold; first, we intend to educate community sectors such as private businesses, education, faith-based organizations, human services, investors, healthcare, and local governments on available health improvement programs, resources and the actions they can take to improve the health status within the region. Second, we will provide educational opportunities to a health care provider audience on evidence-based interventions to incorporate into their practice patterns and the social determinants of health they can share with patients.
