Why is this important?

Psychological distress and substance abuse can affect all aspects of our lives. It is important to recognize and address potential psychological issues before they become critical. Drug abuse and addiction have negative consequences at both the individual and societal level. Mental Health disorders are common across the United States, but only a fraction of those affected receive treatment. Drug addiction and alcoholism are serious problems, and treatment is available to counter addiction. A combination of behavioral therapy and treatment medications tailored to an individual's particular abusive pattern and other mental, emotional, or medical issues are suggested to help overcome addiction. Community Mental Health Services Programs in Michigan provide patients with resources and services to help overcome these issues.
